Our sincere thanks goes out to the Rocky Point Fire Department and the Suffolk County Police for facilitating Nick's emergency medical care and transport to the Stony Brook University Medical Center. The skilled doctors and nurses at Stony Brook University Medical Center are providing Nick with exceptional medical care as well as the doctors at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan. We can never 'pay them back' but we can 'pay it forward'. By helping others we humble ourselves. There is no greater gift than the giving of ourselves - our time - our prayers - our love. Nick received more than 30 pints of blood - thank you to all who donate - there is no substitute for blood. In
the early morning hours of December 22, 2007, Sound Beach, New
York native Nick Manzo was critically injured in a motorcycle
accident involving another motorist. Nick spent nearly two
months in Stony Brook University Medical
Center in critical condition. He then spent one month in St.
Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY which hosts the only
inpatient pediatric traumatic brain injury unit on Long Island.
Currently he is home since March 19, 2008 and is attending outpatient
rehabilitation at
